Foresters & Cash for Kids=========================
Foresters has partnered Cash for Kids on several projects since 2009, including Mission Christmas and Cash for Kids Family Day.
Cash for Kids Family Day------------------------
Foresters recognises the importance of family well being, not only through financial stability, but also through quality family time. That is why Foresters is so proud to be a National Partner and main sponsor of Family Day.
The first ever Cash for Kids Family Day was created in partnership with Foresters in 2011 in recognition of the importance of families spending time together. The day established a date in the calendar to give local families (particularly underprivileged families) the opportunity to enjoy a fun day out together, which they might not otherwise get a chance to do.
Each year, as part of Family Day, Foresters members take part in fun family volunteering activities across the country to help benefit local communities. In 2013, some of these activities included: refilling sandpits, painting fences and outdoor walls/blackboards and tidying up the allotment area at a children’s centre in Southampton; clearing and preparing a room at Craigentinny Community Centre to be used as a technology centre for children aged 12 -18 who are currently living in difficult circumstances due to poverty; and packing snack packs for underprivileged children to visit the cinema in Newcastle.
Mission Christmas-----------------
Unbelievably, every year there are children across the UK who wake up to nothing on Christmas morning. To help ensure that every child receives a gift, Foresters has partnered with Cash for Kids since 2009 to sponsor the Mission Christmas campaign.
In 2012, Cash for Kids Mission Christmas, in partnership with Foresters, raised over ÂŁ5.3 million in cash, gifts and toys, which were collected and distributed to give over 250,000 children across the UK a better Christmas.
In addition to offering financial support, Foresters has also committed to hands-on help through its members. Cash for Kids has highlighted that there is always a shortage of presents donated that are suitable for babies. So, each year Foresters members help fill this need by assembling special gift packs for underprivileged babies at fun family events that take place across the UK. In 2012 alone, just under 1000 UK Foresters Members helped to create nearly 4,000 parcels for disadvantaged babies - a fantastic achievement!
