Your zodiac sign is almost certainly wrong and a lot of people are unhappy

The constellations have moved.

In case you've missed it, apparently the majority of people have changed zodiac signs!

Although it isn't recent news (it was originally reported a few years ago), there seems to be a flurry of tweets in recent days from concerned people such as Toriii who tweeted, "I literally base everything in my life off of my zodiac sign"!

However others took a more rational approach tweeting, "I'm glad my zodiac sign didn't change".

The newly revised list of zodiac signs has come about because the night sky has changed a lot in the last 2000 years when the signs were first established. Zodiac signs are the constellations that lie along the line that the Sun takes in the sky and your zodiac sign in the one that is 'behind' the Sun when you were born.

We'll spare you all the science, but basically the Earth has 'wobbled' on its orbit around the Sun and over time the constellations have 'moved'. Finally astronomers at various observatories and NASA have revised the signs so it turns out that most of the population were actually born under a different star sign.

They've also added in a new sign called Ophiuchus. It's always been there, but it's believed Ancient Greeks decided not to include it as the original 12 signs fit nicely into the 360 degrees of the sky.

If you're Ophiuchus you’re likely to be wise, rebellious and willing to fight for justice!

Below are the revised Zodiac signs including the new sign Ophiuchus:

Capricorn January 20 – February 16 Aquarius February 16 – March 11 Pisces March 11 – April 18 Aries April 18 – May 13 Taurus May 13 – June 21 Gemini June 21 – July 20 Cancer July 20 – August 10 Leo August 10 – September 16 Virgo September 16 – October 30 Libra October 30 – November 23 Scorpio November 23 – November 29 Ophiuchus November 29 –December 17 Sagittarius December 17 – January 20
