WATCH: Top 15 films released in the UK in 2016
How many have you seen?
As 2016 draws to a close we take a look at the most popular films at the UK box office.
In a year that has included everything from animations like Finding Dory to rom-coms such as Bridget Jones's Baby and superhero films like Batman V Superman, this chart was bound to be varied.
The top 15 films at the UK box office according to the British Film Institute include two films that were only released in the past few weeks, so like any chart it is bound to change, but this is how it stands on the 22nd December 2016.
15. The Revenant £23.19 million This American epic Western starred Leonardo di Caprio who won an Oscar for Best Actor.
14. Jason Bourne £23.31 million Matt Damon reprised his role of Jason Bourne for the fifth film in the series.
13. The Girl On The Train £23.66 million Based on a book of the same name this adaptation starred Emily Blunt as the lead character Rachel Watson.
12. Zootropolis £23.99 million This animated feature film is about unlikely partnership between a rabbit police officer and a fox con artist.
11. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story £25.50 million After just a week the latest Star Wars film is already at number 11 in this year's charts!
10. The BFG £30.66 million This live-action adaptation of the classic children's book of the same name starred Mark Rylance who also starred in Bridge of Spies.
9. Suicide Squad £33.63 million This is the third installment in the DC Extended Universe and music from the film has been nominated at next year's Grammys.
8. The Secret Life Of Pets £36.18 million This animation has become the highest grossing animated film NOT produced by Disney or Pixar.
7. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice £36.64 million This film brought together two DC Comics superheroes starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill.
6. Captain America: Civil War £36.95 million Another superhero film, but this time from the Marvel universe has become the sixth most popular film this year starring Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr.
5. Deadpool £37.89 million Unbelievably another superhero, or should we say antihero film has entered the chart, this time starring Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.
4. Finding Dory £42.89 million Ellen DeGeneres lended her voice to this animated blockbuster sequel to the 2003 film Finding Nemo.
3. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them £46.06 million This prequel to the Harry Potter films was only released on the 18th November, but has already climbed the heights of this chart to reach number three.
2. The Jungle Book £46.20 million A live-action adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's classic book, this film hit the big screen in April and immediately became a hit around the world.
1. Bridget Jones's Baby £48.05 million This sequel to the 2004 film Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason saw Renée Zellweger reprise her infamous role, this time as a pregnant Bridget Jones.
Whilst this list only includes films that were released in the UK in 2016, amazingly Star Wars: The Force Awakens (released in 2015) took £36m of its total £123m in 2016, so would be 9th in this list if it had been included.
Figures correct as of 22nd December 2016.
