‘Ted Hastings’ goes viral with Downing Street party stunt

We’d recognise that voice anywhere 🤣

A video posted on social media yesterday from the activism group Led by Donkeys, has reached over 3.5 million views overnight.

The political group staged a stunt outside New Scotland Yard, parking a van at the landmark steps playing a five-minute video questioning Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick.

The protest is against the Metropolitan Police’s decision not to investigate allegations Downing Street staff broke Covid rules.

The voice behind the video sounds like Line of Duty’s Ted Hastings, played by Enniskillen actor Adrian Dunbar.

One clip that screams AC-12 reads: “Now I didn't float up the Lagan in a bubble, and neither did the British public. That is no work meeting."

Another is: "Jesus, Mary and Joseph, led by the wee donkey. Who exactly does the Metropolitan Police work for ma’am? Our citizens or Boris Johnson?”

Led by Donkey’s is yet to confirm or deny whether the star did in fact take part, but have a listen and let us know what you think 👇

Dunbar’s character, Superintendent Ted Hastings, adds unique charm to the sometimes-menacing Anti-Corruption unit.

Hastings’ witty banter and phrases help break up the formal police lingo and acronyms, something the writers tend to exaggerate at times.

With series six being just as exciting and explosive as before...we are holding out for news of a seventh series!

Check out some of Ted Hasting’s best quotes from Line of Duty:
