Fans of the hit show Derry Girls have started to name their own ‘youngsters’ after the now famous comedy characters.

Baby name trends tend to follow popular culture, everything from Marvel to Bridgerton is now on the list.

And it looks like local comedy series Derry Girls is no different. According to Bella Baby, an Irish leading baby product supplier and baby store, another generation of Erin’s and Orla’s are being born.

This recent study, using statistics from Baby Name UK and Google Trends, has found that the show has also brought with it a renewed love for traditional Irish names.

For a series that’s filled with 90s nostalgia, it's no surprise these classic names are back in fashion.
