Downtown Country’s Stuart Banford wins BIG at NYF Radio Awards
Downtown Country’s Stuart Banford has received global recognition, winning at the New York Festival (NYF) Radio Awards for Best Country Format.
The NYF Radio Awards receives entries from radio stations, networks, and independent producers from over 30 countries around the globe, so this is quite the achievement. The awards honour the achievements of those who make up the global audio storytelling community.
In total, 139 awards were given to the UK, including Absolute Radio, Magic and of course Downtown Country.
All entries in the 2022 competition were judged online by NYF’s Radio Awards Grand Jury of 200+ producers, directors, writers, and other creative media professionals from around the globe.
Stuart is delighted to be awarded two years in a row: “To be recognised twice now is a huge honour. Being a part of the growth of the American Country genre here in Northern Ireland is a dream come true. I get to speak to the biggest names and faces in country music as a job, it’s fantastic.”
