Women's World Cup: Republic thrash Georgia 11-0 in qualifier

The Republic kept their hopes alive of qualifying for the Women's World Cup finals after hammering Georgia 11-0 last night in Dublin.

After last week's 1-1 draw with Slovakia, Vera Pauw's side desperately needed a big result.

And they did so in style, with a Denise O'Sullivan hat-trick and a Katie McCabe double helping them on their way.

The result, combined with Sweden's 3-0 victory over Slovakia, means the Republic finish 2021 in second place in the Group A table.
