Women's Premiership Irish Cup: Cliftonville knock out holders Glentoran
Holders Glentoran Women are out of the Women’s Premiership League Cup after falling to defeat at home to Cliftonville Ladies at the quarter-final stage.
Both sides were without a host of players due to international duty with Northern Ireland as Fionnula Morgan netted both goals for the Reds.
Morgan opened the scoring in the fifth minute from a free-kick before heading home a corner to double the lead eight minutes later.
Cliftonville, who lead the way in the league, will play Lisburn Ladies in next Wednesday’s semi-final after Hayden Davis’s side recorded a three-goal victory at Mid Ulster Ladies.
An own goal on the half-hour mark opened the scoring before Rachel Kerr and Julie Henderson netted either side of the break.
A double from Keri Halliday propelled Linfield Ladies to an eye-catching three-goal victory away at Crusaders Strikers.
Halliday opened the scoring before Ebony Leckey’s penalty doubled the Blues lead at Seaview and teenager Halliday added another after the break.
Phil Lewis’s side will meet Sion Swifts Ladies in the last four – Kelly Crompton netted a second half double for Sion at Derry City Women after Caoirse Doherty had opened the scoring.
