WATCH: Carlisle reveals no shortage of offers for free agent McGinn
Bumper Christmas Show Part Two features array of local footballing reps
Niall McGinn has up to six offers on the table after terminating his contract with South Korean side Gwangiu last month, it has emerged.
Among the clubs chasing the Northern Ireland star’s signature is former side Aberdeen.
Dons boss Derek McInnes has already made it clear he wants McGinn back at Pitoddrie.
But according to well-known Belfast-based football agent Gerry Carlisle, they’re not the only team looking for him.
Speaking on Part Two of Cool FM’s big Christmas Facebook show (in partnership with NIFL), Carlisle revealed that McGinn currently had the pick of half a dozen clubs.
“Niall is going to be fine,” he told us.
“I think he has probably about six offers on the table so really he has the power at the moment.
“He doesn’t really need to really do anything – we are just going to talk to the clubs who have offered him and maybe other clubs will come in.”
Also guesting alongside Carlisle on this week’s show is Irish League legend Roy Walker.
The former Crusaders boss believes any team finishing above the Crues wins the title.
And he says Coleraine are playing like winners.
“The mark of a championship-winning team is not playing well and still picking up points – doing enough to win the game – similarities between this Coleraine team and one of my Crusaders teams who got into a lead – people were waiting for you slip up and you never did,” Walker said.
“It is a strong unit at Coleraine – they are well managed and well coached.”
Meanwhile, another guest on our bumper festive show was Kris Lindsay, Glenavon’s player-coach.
He tells us that life is great at the moment at Mourneview Park.
“So far we have been going very well and I am really enjoying and getting my teeth into it,” Lindsay said.
“The only thing now as a coach is you tend to realise how much work goes on behind the scene.”
Meanwhile, Glentoran boss Gary Haveron was making his second appearance as a guest on the show.
He told us he wasn’t afraid of getting the sack despite just one win in eight matches with the Glens.
And he predicted his side would finish in the top six by the end of the season – and qualify for European football.
NIFL's Andrew Johnston completes the line-up. He says the quality of this year's Danske Bank Premiership campaign is there for all to see with at least five teams in with a shout of the title
