Several figures from across the Irish League are calling for a temporary suspension of the season over concerns surrounding Covid-19.

Fixtures have again been affected after 2 positive tests were confirmed following Larne's recent game with Ballymena United, and there are now concerns about the viability of playing out an entire 38 game season.

Larne owner Kenny Bruce believes calling things off for the moment is the only way to stop the spread in Irish League circles:

Bruce isn't alone in voicing his frustrations, with players also making their thoughts clear. Crusaders' keeper Sean O'Neill and Coleraine's Jamie Glackin have raised concerns about player safety.

It's understood NIFL will contact each of the Premiership clubs on Wednesday to gather their thoughts on how the season should proceed.
