Northern Ireland kept their hopes alive in the UEFA Women's Nations League after they drew 1-1 with Hungary last night (Tuesday) in Belfast.

Danielle Maxwell sealed a crucial point for Tanya Oxtoby's side after she scored an impressive equaliser with just 11 minutes left to play at Seaview.

It was the Cliftonville winger's first international goal.

On 34 minutes Northern Ireland had their best chance of the first half. Demi Vance swung in a corner which hit captain Nadene Caldwell and fell to Sarah McFadden whose shot on the turn went inches past the post.

The draw means they still have a chance of finishing in second place in Group B1. They currently sit just 1 point behind Hungary.

They won 1-0 away to Albania and secured promotion to League A as a result.

In the process they have clinched at least a Euro playoff.
