Nations League: Northern Ireland clash with Belarus given Windsor Park go-ahead
Northern Ireland's Nations League tie with Belarus WILL take place at Windsor Park, it's been confirmed this morning.
There had been doubt over whether the match would take place on Friday November 15 in Belfast, due to via issues surrounding the players and staff from Belarus.
The UK government has placed sanctions on Belarus due to their involvement in Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
However, the match has now been given the go-ahead, with the government prepared to issue visas to the visiting side. Had those visas not been issued, that would have required a venue in mainland Europe to host the match.
Northern Ireland currently sit top of League C3, one point ahead of Belarus, with two matches remaining.
Following that clash at home to Belarus, Michael O'Neill's side travel to play Luxembourg on Monday November 18 in the final group match.
