Linfield went top of the Irish Premiership on Friday night with a 1-0 win at Ballymena United.

In a tightly-fought battle, Chris McKee's 82nd minute strike proved the difference between the sides.

McKee and Kyle McClean also hit the woodwork as David Healy's side could have won by more.

TJ Murray had United's best chance, but Linfield held out.

On Saturday, Cliftonville continued their impressive start to the season with a 4-0 win against Carrick Rangers - and like Linfield they have three wins from three.

Larne stay unbeaten so far - however they had to be content with a point from their 0-0 draw at Coleraine's Showgrounds.

It is four successive defeats for Glenavon after Newry City won 3-1 against the Lurgan Blues.

Loughgall sealed a second win of the campaign after beating Dungannon Swifts 2-1.

The match between Glentoran and Crusaders was postponed - that followed a Saturday morning pitch inspection.
