McIlroy has leaders in sight after another good day in Augusta
Holywood star still in the chase for Masters' glory
Rory McIlroy is still very much in the hunt for his first Masters’ title.
The World Number Seven is in hot pursuit of American Patrick Reed who leads on -9.
McIlroy is just five shots behind in fourth spot – having completed rounds of 69 and 71.
However, he said he probably should have done better yesterday - and was frustrated his finishing was not as clinical as it could have been.
But he added: “I feel relaxed. I feel good. I'm constantly having a conversation with myself about staying in the present and just one shot at a time and all the cliche stuff that you hear about. But it's true.
“`That's all I'm doing. I'm trying to get up there and hit the best shot that I can, and after that I'll go about what's the best way to hit the next shot and the putt.
“`I feel like I don't have to swing my best to play my best golf, but if I can think the way I'm thinking right now and stay in that mindset, that's when I've been able to produce my best results."
McIlroy tees off in Augusta with Henrik Stenson, in third place, shortly after 7pm
But Reed is the golfer in form – and having hit nine birdies yesterday, the chasing pack will need to be at their very best to match him.
Meanwhile, after his recent good form, Tiger Woods has had a tournament to forget so far.
He is currently on + 4.
