McIlroy back in the groove just in time for US Open
No effects from rib injury
Rory McIlroy is aiming to hit the ground running as he begins his bid for a second US Open.
The World Number Two has been out of action recently because of rib injury which meant he had to sit out the PGA Championship and the Memorial Tournament.
But the Holywood superstar is back with a bang and full of confidence ahead of the Open tomorrow at Erin Hills.
He says there are no lasting effects from the injury.
“There are no limitations on my swing whatsoever – instead of hitting five bags of balls I’ll maybe hit two but it’s not as if I can’t hit, it’s just a matter of managing how many repetitions I can carry out,” he added.”
McIlroy (28) has played just six events heading into the Open which he won in style in 2011
