McAuley calls it a day on career
After 23 years, NI centre-back retires from game
Northern Ireland international Gareth McAuley has retired after 23 years in the game..
The 39-year-old made over 200 appearances for West Brom - and was released by Rangers at the end of last season.
He has also played for Leicester and Ipswich Town - having started his career in the Irish League with Crusaders.
McAuley scored nine goals in 80 games for the national team.
His most memorable moment playing for Northern Ireland when he scored the first goal in his country's 2-0 win over Ukraine at the Euro 2016 finals in France.
McAuley said it had been a dream, a privilege and an honour to reprsent "so many great clubs."
