McAree exits Coleraine
Bannsiders begin process of recruiting new manager
Rodney McAree has left Coleraine - after just eight months in the managerial hot-seat.
In a statement, the club said they had parted company by mutual consent.
Ex Dungannon Swifts manager, McAree (44) became Bannsiders boss last September after succeeding Oran Kearney who joined Scottish Premiership side, St Mirren.
By their recent standards, it has been a hugely disappointing year for Coleraine - finishing sixth and unable to build on the 2017-18 Irish Cup success.
Crucially, they also missed out on a Europa League place after losing a play-off semi to Cliftonville - and the chance to compete for a place in the competition qualifying - worth around £200,000.
In their statement, Coleraine said: "McAree leaves the Showgrounds with immediate effect. The Board of Directors would like to place on record their thanks to Rod for the efforts and commitment he has made since his appointment and wish him well for the future.
The club will now begin the process of recruiting a new manager. No further comment will be made at this time. A further statement will follow in due course."
