Mageean makes history by reaching World Champs final
Portaferry athlete finishes fifth in Doha semi
Co Down runner Ciara Mageean has become the first woman representing Team Ireland to qualify for a global 1500 metre final.
The 27-year-old from Portaferry finished fifth in her semi-final last night at the World Championships in Doha.
As a result she becomes the first Irish woman to reach a world 1500m final since Sonia O'Sullivan in 1997.
The final takes place tomorrow (Saturday)
