Kiss calls for Ulster cohesion
Ulster Director of Rugby says the province can't rely on skills of individual players, and instead need to develop as a team.
He spoke ahead of Friday's season opener, home to the Cheetahs in the Pro14.
"We've got good individuals, but how do we merge our parts of the game in a more solid way. Even the strategy and the way we play, where we don't just rely on being an attack team, and suddenly we're a defense team, and then we're a set piece team, and then we're a kicking team."
"We're trying to drive that to a more whole, holistic approach," he said.
Ulster head into the game on the back of a hugely disappointing preseason that saw them lose to Wasps in Belfast, and then get hammered away to Northampton.
"It's disappointing - the boys are disappointed. But what we've been trying to work on doesn't flow at this stage."
"We're trying to get the right things right and push us in a way we need to do it - and we will do it. But we'll probably take a couple of hits trying to get to that point," said Kiss.
"We have to be stronger each session, be stronger each week, because in the end that's what wins championships. "
"Teams that can gel and find solutions in the heat of battle. That's what our drive is. If we can be that on a weekly basis, we'll put ourselves in a better position when it matters at the end of the year."
