Irish Premiership: McCartan off to Glentoran from Ballymena
Glentoran have signalled their intent just ahead of the new Irish Premiership season by sealing a deal to bring Shay McCartan to the Oval.
The 27-year-old forward is regarded as one of the league's top players.
He joined Ballymena last season after spells in England with the likes of Burnley.
McCartan, who has two Northern Ireland caps, joins an array of new talent including Bobby Burns, Jordan Jenkins, Aaron McCarey and Ross Glendinning.
Speaking on the club's website, he said: “Once I spoke to Mick and Paul and heard the ambitions of the club, I absolutely knew its something I want to be part of. When I played against the Glens last season it was obvious they were a good team and now I want to play a part in taking things to the next level."
