Queen's Uni 2-1 Linfield

The Students pulled off one of the most famous Irish Cup upsets of all time, sent on their way to a shock win after taking a first half lead through Marc McKenna. He struck from 20 yards in the 39th minute, with the Blues not equalising until the hour through Shayne Lavery's header.

However, with 14 minutes left to play Linfield's Mark Stafford was punished for handling the ball inside his own box, and Jonah Mitchell converted from the spot to give Queen's a 2-1 lead that proved enough for them to claim a huge victory and dump the Blues out of the Cup.

Glentoran 2-2 aet Portadown; Glens win 5-4 on penalties

The first half passed by with the Ports largely camped in their own half, but the home side were unable to convert their dominance into goals. There were few real chances for either side until the visitors took a shock lead 4 minutes before half time when Lee Bonis ghosted bewteen his defenders to head home Teggart's cross from deep.

It looked like the Glens were never going to find a way through, but sub Jonny Frazer was bundled over in the box in the 93rd minute to hand his side a lifeline from the spot. Set piece specialist Hrvoje Plum stepped up and slammed the ball into the top corner to take the game into extra time.

2 minutes into extra time the Ports re-took the lead when Liam McKenna flew in to score a diving header after a good cross by Chris Lavery from the left, but Glentoran took less than 60 seconds to reply as Frazer squeezed in a close-range shot at the near post to pull them level.

The game eventually went to penalties, but it was 3-3 after the first round of spot kicks. It went to sudden death and after both sides scored, Portadown's Chris Crane scooped his effort over the bar, allowing Gavin Peers to calmly slot the winner for Glentoran.

Glenavon 0-2 Coleraine

The 2018 champions took an early lead at Mourneview through Jamie Glackin. In the 9th minute, he was played in by Eoin Bradley, rounding the keeper and slotting into the empty net. Glenavon came close to an equaliser on several occasions, but Bradley stole in to collect a badly underhit backpass, chipping the ball over the onrushing Tuffey before scoring to make it 2-0 and settle the tie with 75 minutes played.

Crusaders 3-0 Dundela

The defending cup champions took control early on through Philip Lowry's low strike in the 10th minute to break the deadlock. David Cushley added the second after the break to make sure of a routine win, and there was still time for Lowry to add his second of the afternoon with a shot from 20 yards.

Cliftonville 6-0 Hanover

It was always going to be a difficult day for the visitors, the lowest-ranked side taking part in the 5th round. Thomas Maguire struck with 10 minutes on the clock after great work by Calvin McCurry, with Aaron Donnelly adding the second 5 minutes later with a superb free kick. Joe Gormley bundled in the third just after the half hour, Ronan Doherty curled in the 4th with 35 played, and Ryan Curran got in on the act to make it 5-0 at half-time. Maguire continue the rout in the second half, scoring his second and Cliftonville's 6th in the 53rd minute to round off a routine cup win.

Larne 8-0 Belfast Celtic

Big-spending Larne took 9 minutes to open the scoring as Marty Donnelly cut inside from the right before beating the keeper. He made it 2-0 on 27 minutes, David McDaid tapped in a 3rd three minutes later, and Albert Watson scored the 4th on the verge of half time. 8 minutes into the second half, Conor McKendry volleyed home at the back post to make it 5, and McDaid scored number 6 on the hour. With 79 minutes played, Sean Graham scored the 7th, with Harry Flowers completing the demolition job in the 90th minute.

Ballymena United 2-0 Crumlin Star

In a low-key affair at the Showgrounds, it took until the midway point of the second half for Ballymena to find the net. The goal came on 66 to the relief of the home supporters when sub Declan Carville headed home from a corner. Cathair Friel added some gloss to the scoreline when he scored Ballymena's 2nd in injury time.

Ards 1-3 Carrick Rangers

Rangers captain Mark Surgenor settled any early nerves by heading home Reece Neale's 6th minute corner to give his side the lead, and into the second half Daniel Kelly did the same, this time from a Kyle Cherry delivery. Michael McLellan hit back for Ards in the 64th minute, but Lloyd Anderson soon restored Carrick's 2-goal lead.

Institute 2-3 Dungannon Swifts

Rhyss Campbell struck early on for the Swifts, before Gareth Brown headed Stute back into contention just before half time. With 15 minutes left to play, Ben Gallagher capitalised on a defensive mistake by the home side to chip the Swifts into a 2-1 lead. However, Cormac Burke fired Stute level just 3 minutes later. With just seconds left to play, Michael Carvill finished well to make it 3-2 and steal the win at the death for Dungannon.
