'I'll be back faster, fitter and stronger' : Stockdale buzzing on Ulster return
Wing joins Rory Best in tonight's line-up
Jacob Stockdale says he’s raring to go for Ulster after a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury.
The 22-year-old wing is fit for his first match of the season against Connacht tonight (7.35).
He says he will be back stronger than ever.
“To be honest the injury in the long run probably did me the world of good a world – it give me a chance to recover from a pretty long season last year to get fitter, stronger and faster more so than I would have been able to do if I had been fit,” Stockdale said.
Rory Best will also return after injury as Ulster look to getting back to winning ways in the PRO14 after the 64-7 mauling at the hands of Munster.
Connacht have not won in Belfast in 58 years but head coach Dan McFarland says that will be irrelevant when they take to the pitch.
“We will have to match that physicality – they lost at home last week so they will be smarting from that,” he said.
“They have got some really classy players who can do damage.”
