History-making motorcyclist Jonathan Rea said picking up an unprecedented fourth World Superbike title in a row was a boyhood dream come true.
The Co Antrim rider wrote his name in the record books after victory in France at the weekend.
Speaking today to Downtown & Cool FM, Rea said it has been an incredible journey.
“Just the last eight win races in a row has been mind-blowing,” he said.
“It is really hard to take it all in – but I am so grateful to my team around me – I am so lucky to be here.”
The 31-year-old who is now one of the sport’s all-time greats said racing and particularly winning was “addictive”.
“Winning I never get used to –but each race is so special, winning each race is so special in a different way,” he said.
“I can recite all 68 of my race wins now and tell you the exact feeling – it’s super cool – and that’s what keeps you coming back.
“It’s almost addictive.”
