Martin Smith’s young side kicked off their Junior Section campaign at Coleraine Showgrounds yesterday (Monday) with a stunning 2-1 victory over favourites Manchester United.
Two superb goals – one after just 25 seconds – from 15-year-old Lee Harkin sealed a famous win.
Elsewhere, Co Armagh juniors also gave an excellent account of themselves – kicking off their tournament with a 2-0 win over Leeds.
And in the Premier Section, the pick of the results saw County Down beat Newcastley United 2-1.
Meanwhile, in the minors, Linfield beat St Johnstone 1-0.
In the pick of today’s 26 ties, Coleraine Academy’s minor side face West Ham while at the Showgrounds later, Man United play Rangers in the Junior Section.
Co Tyrone will have to be at their very best if they are to beat last year’s Premier champions, Right to Dream.
