Golf: McIlroy returning to Irish Open in July

Rory McIlroy is among the star names lining up at next month's Irish Open in Kilkenny.

The Holywood superstar, who has slipped to 10 in the world rankings, will tee off alongside the likes of Open winner Shane Lowry and Graeme McDowell.

The tournament which takes place at the Mount Juliet Estate in Kilkenny on July 1, will be in front of a limited number of spectators.

McIlroy was tournament host from 2015 to 2018 and won at The K Club in 2016.

However, he missed last year's competition at the Galgorm.
