Giants at the double as Shields and Murphy too sharp for Steelers
Back-to-back wins keep Keefe's men on right track
The Belfast Giants maintained their superb start to the season with back-to-back weekend wins over the Sheffield Steelers.
In the first game at the SSE Arena on Saturday, they ran out 3-1 victors and followed this up last night with a 2-0 win in Sheffield.
Man of the match, Colin Shields, the Giants’ all-time goal-scorer, put his side ahead last night while Darcy Murphy completed the scoring.
It was no more than Adam keefe side deserved but it could have been a different scoreline had goaltender Stephen Murphy not been in inspirational form, continually frustrating the Steelers forward line.
Next up for the Giants is an away trip to the Nottingham Panthers on Wednesday
