Carl Frampton will have his first fight under new promoter Frank Warren, at the SSE Arena in Belfast, on November 18.

Frampton made the announcement in front of fans at the Ulster Hall last week.

His opponent has just been announced as 27-year-old Mexican Horacio Garcia.

Garcia holds a top record of 33 wins from 37 contests; with 24 of those victories coming by way of knockout.

“This is a fight that really excites me,” said Frampton. “Garcia will definitely come and have a go. He’s a typical Mexican warrior, he’s tough and he’s game and he’ll try and put it on me in front of my home crowd.

“He has never been stopped in his career and has only lost to World class opposition, excluding the loss against Olguin. It will be good to get a fight in against a live opponent before I get one of the big boys in the new year.

“It’s great to be back in Belfast and to fighting here,” he said.

“The last show never happened for whatever reason but I am just looking forward to repaying the fans for showing support in me.

“This fight has been a long time coming and it’s good to be back out in Belfast topping a double World Title bill that also features my good friend Paddy Barnes defending his WBO European title."

The 30-year-old three-time World Champion announced he was joining Frank Warren’s stable last month.

He said he was just looking forward now after a challenging year.

“I just want to put the last year behind me,” he said.

“I have had a disastrous year. I lost my first fight, the last fight fell through and everything else that is going on.

“I want to put that behind me and get back to winning ways.”

Conlan, Frampton, Barnes

Meanwhile, a world title fight is on the cards for Frampton’s stablemate Jamie Conlan.

He will challenge Jerwin Ancajas of the Philippines for the IBF world super-flyweight belt on the same bill.

And it was also announced that Belfast’s Paddy Barnes will be on the undercard.
