Carrick Rangers have saved their Irish League Premiership status.

They beat Championship runners-up, Institute, last night 4-1 (5-3 on aggregate) in the play-off second leg.

Carrick took an away-goal advantage into the final fixture.

And they soon found themselves 2-1 up overall when Kyle McVey opened the scoring in spectacular style.

Sammy Morrow did equalise but further strikes from Steven McCullough and a double from Declan O’Brien sealed the win.
