Diamond is a world golfer's best friend as JP leaves the stage
McIlroy begins new era with Harry at his side
Rory McIlroy begins a new era today – as he prepares to tee off in Ohio.
The World Number Four has a new caddie in tow after parting ways with JP Fitzgerald.
Close pal, Harry Diamond will join him at the WGC Invitational and next week’s US PGA.
McIroy tees off in a three-ball with recent Open champion Jordan Spieth and former World Number One Jason Day.
Earlier he told how he split with JP to save his long-term friendship.
“It’s a big change,” he said. “JP has been a huge part of my life for the last decade.
“I still consider him one of my best friends but sometimes to preserve a personal relationship you might have to sacrifice a professional one and that was sort of the decision I came to in the end.
