Linfield 2-2 Cliftonville aet; Cliftonville win 4-3 on penalties

The visitors took the lead on the stroke of half time when Ronan Doherty rounded off a flowing move by placing a shot into the bottom corner from 16 yards following a sharp one-two with Ryan Curran.

Joel Cooper cracked the post in the 68th minute as Linfield rallied for an equaliser, but the Reds soon doubled their lead.

This time it was a role reversal as Doherty crossed to an unmarked Ryan Curran to head home at the back post in the 76th minute.

5 minutes later, 15-year-old Dale Taylor gave the Blues a lifeline as he turned on the edge of the box before curling an effort around Richard Brush to make it 2-1.

In the 86th mintue, they drew level in spectacualr fashion through Kirk Millar. The winger stepped up and curled a 25-yard free kick into the top corner to send the game into extra time.

In the shootout, visiting keeper Richard Brush saved spot-kicks from Linfield's Taylor and Quinn, with Ryan and Chris Curran, Aaron Donnelly and Conor McMenamin finding the net to see the Reds through to the next round.

Ballymena 1-1 Crusaders aet; Ballymena win 3-2 on penalties

The home side opened the scoring through Shane McGinty, who found the net from 20 yards in the 12th minute.

David Cushley then pulled the Belfast side level after 32 minutes with an equally impressive strike, turning his defender just inside the box before hammering a right-footed shot into the top corner.

That was it as far as scoring went within the 90, and the game went to extra time, with David Jeffrey's side winning the shootout 3-2.

Glentoran 3-2 Larne aet

10 minutes before the break at The Oval, Davy McDaid broke the deadlock with a great chip from distance to put Larne into the lead.

Early in the second half, Navid Nasseri pulled the Glens level, and Elvio van Overbeek put them ahead in the 75th minute following a short corner routine.

However, Larne immediately squared the game at 2-2 through Marty Donnelly's finish as this game also went to extra time.

The end-to-end nature continued into added time, and it was the Glens who scored in the 97th minute through Darren Murray, who turned and fired into the net after van Overbeek's cross to send them into the final 4.

Ards 0-1 H&W Welders

Eamonn McAllister struck the post with a free kick for the home side, with Michael McLellan also hitting the frame of the goal towards the end of the 90 minutes - but that was as close as they came.

The game, like the others, looked certain to head for extra time, but Scott Davidson scored at the death to secure the Welders' progress into the semis.
