Larne have won the Co Antrim Shield for the third consecutive year after they beat 10-man Linfield on penalties in the final at Seaview last night (Tuesday).

Mark Randall (pictured below) slotted home the winning spot-kick to give Larne a 4-3 victory.

Boss Tiernan Lynch said: "It's always nice to win trophies.

"When we got on this journey that's what we wanted to do and we wanted to achieve that as I club.

"And it was nice to get a third one."

Meanwhile, in the first half Linfield midfielder Kyle McClean was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Leroy Millar.

Further red cards were also dished out to Blues boss David Healy and his assistant Ross Oliver.

Then at the end of a scoreless 90 minutes young Linfield keeper David Walsh suffered a head injury - and the shoot-out had to be delayed for 20 minutes with the players taken off the pitch while an ambulance tended to the 20 year old.

Both clubs tweeted their wishes for Walsh's speedy recovery.
