Champions League: Rangers face Liverpool, while Celtic get Real Madrid

It's the first time the Scottish rivals have competed in the group stages together since the 2007/08 season

Rangers will take on Liverpool in the group stages of this season's Champions League.

Giovanni Van Bronckhorst's side, who knocked PSV Eindhoven out of the play-off last night, also meet Dutch giants Ajax and Italian side Napoli in Group A.

Meanwhile, SPL Champions Celtic have been paired in Group F with current Champions League holders Celtic, RB Leipzig of Germany and Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk.

Premier League winners Manchester City are in Group G alongside Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund and FC Copenhagen, while Chelsea are up against Italian giants AC Milan, FC Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb.

The other English side in the competition, Tottenham Hotspur, are in Group D. They'll take on Europa League holders Eintracht Frankfurt, Sporting Lisbon and Marseille.

The ties begin on September 6th and 7th with the final group games taking place on November 1st and 2nd.

The full draw for the group stages of the UEFA Champions League 2022/23 is as follows:
