'Bring on the challenge' : Healy on Linfield's Champions League quest
Blues to take on Rosenborg later
The odds may be stacked against Linfield tonight (Wednesay) in the Champions League but David Healy says his players are ready for the challenge.
It's the first leg of the first round of qualifying at Windsor Park
And the Irish League champions are hosting Norwegian side Rosenborg.
Speaking to Downtown & Cool FM, Healy acknowledged the difficulty of the task ahead.
But he said they were well up for the challenge.
“They are experienced more importantly on European football – they have been in group stages they have been in the big competitions longer than we have,” he said.
“Bring the challenge on.
“We’re the champions … they’re the champions – and we’ll see where we are at.”
Blues forward, Jordan Stewart (above), said they would definitely not be intimidated.
“If you don’t go into it with a belief then there is no point in playing the game – we’ll focus on Rosenborg and see what we can do,” he told us.
