Northern Ireland snooker stars Mark Allen and Jordan Brown are set to meet each other in the first-round proper of the UK Championship at the York Barbican.

The two Antrim players will play on Saturday at 1pm after Brown came through his qualifier tie on Thursday.

It will be the first time they have met on the professional tour. Brown was recently in the audience when Allen defended his Northern Ireland Open title in Belfast.

Brown, himself the 2021 Welsh Open winner, beat Zak Surety 6-3 in the final qualifying round to make it to the televised stage.
