Northern Ireland set to be hotter than Lanzarote this week 🌡🌤
Summer is finally here as temperatures set to soar
After an unseasonably wet start to June there is some good news.
Forecasters at the Met Office are predicting an upturn in mercury levels this week as Northern Ireland looks set to finally get its first taste of summer.
"High pressure will become established across the UK, which will bring plenty of fine, dry and settled weather, with increasing amounts of sunshine."
The almost perfect weather for the start of the school holidays, as temperatures look set to reach 19-24C making parts of the province warmer than Lanzarote.
Many of us will be dusting off our barbecues.... but will the good weather last into the weekend?
Worth noting, while it will feel pleasantly mild, unfortunately there are no signs yet of a return to the sort of long-term record breaking temperatures witnessed last year.
Before the good weather reaches us there is a weather warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms to get through first as 40mm of rain is forecast to fall today, with a risk of thunderstorms this afternoon.
