Another brief cold snap is expected to hit Northern Ireland tomorrow.

The Met Office has issued a yellow ‘be aware’ weather warning.

Snow showers are expected to develop through the early hours of tonight lasting for much of Wednesday. These, combined with strong winds could lead to locally very poor travel conditions.

A statement on the Met Office website says: "Following a spell of rain, temperatures will fall quickly allowing ice to form on untreated surfaces. Frequent blustery showers of rain, sleet, snow and hail will then also develop. Some roads and railways are likely to be affected by snow with longer journey times by road, bus and train services. Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces are also possible."

"2-5 cm of snow is expected to accumulate in places above 200 m. Some snow is also possible to low levels at times, mainly overnight."

The warning is in place from 03:00 lasting through to 18:00 Wednesday
