Ice warning issued as further wintry showers and sub-zero temperatures forecast across NI

Time to dig out the 'big coat'. After an unseasonably warm start to winter, forecasters are warning about a potential “shock to the system” this week.
Temperatures will continue to dip tonight with a blast of arctic air set to bring us our first taste of winter.
According to the Met Office; "Ice will form in places later Tuesday evening and overnight into Wednesday, especially where wintry showers leave surfaces wet. Further sleet and snow showers are also likely at times. Accumulations of several centimetres are likely above 200 metres, mainly across western Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and northwest England. A small amount of settling snow (1 cm or less) is also possible at lower levels in a few places."
The warning which covers all counties comes into affect from 4pm Tuesday lasting through to 11am Wednesday morning.
With night time temperatures expected to fall below zero, drivers will have to brace themselves for frost in the mornings - worth stocking up on de-icer.
We have had it so good recently, it had to turn cold at some point.
The good news is there are signs of some frost-free milder weather returning in time for the weekend.
Snow showers have been affecting parts of the north west with towns and villages across higher ground in Derry-Londonderry and Tyrone waking up to a dusting of snow this morning.

Tuesday - Sunny intervals and scattered sleet and snow showers, giving further accumulations over hills and to lower levels later. High 3°C / Low 0°C
Wednesday - Sleet and snow showers early, clearing to leave a mainly dry and overcast day. High 4°C / Low 0°C
Thursday - Dry cold start with rain extending east during the afternoon. High 5°C / Low 3°C
Friday - Turning milder, a dull mainly dry and overcast day. High 9°C / Low 5°C
