Woman rescued from human trafficking

Two people have been charged after a 29 year old woman was rescued from human trafficking in County Tyrone.

Police in Dungannon carried out a number of searches on Tuesday after a report of concern for the safety of a woman.

A man aged 32 has been charged with a number of offences including human trafficking for sexual exploitation, rape, controlling prostitution and kidnapping.

A 20 year old woman is accused of human trafficking for sexual exploitation, controlling prostitution and kidnapping.

They will both appear at Strabane Magistrate's Court today.

The rescued woman is receiving assistance from police and other agencies.
