Woman charged to court after pregnant woman dies in Fermanagh collision

A woman has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, following the death of a pregnant woman who died when a car collided with three pedestrians in County Fermanagh.

28 year old Valeria Amorim died at the scene of the collision on the Boa Island Road in Belleek on Monday night. She was six months pregnant.

Two other pedestrians were treated by paramedics.

A PSNI statement said, “Police investigating a fatal road traffic collision in the Boa Island Road area of Belleek on Monday evening, 19th February have charged a woman to court.”

“The 34-year-old has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving, and a number of other related driving offences, including driving with excess alcohol in breath.”

“She is due to appear before Dungannon Magistrates’ Court this morning, Wednesday 21st February.”

“As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
