A masked man armed with a pellet gun made off empty handed after staff refused to hand over cash just before eight on Monday evening.

The suspect then fled the scene on Ainsworth Avenue just before 8.

Detective Constable Tracey Blair said: “I would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or anyone who has information that could assist with police enquiries to contact Detectives at Musgrave Criminal Investigation Department on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 286 21/02/18.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
