Proof of double-vaccination is now available for Northern Ireland residents jetting off within the next three months.

The certificates, available in digital form through an app or as a PDF for printing, will provide citizens with official confirmation that they have received both their COVID-19 vaccinations in NI.

Some countries require proof of having had two vaccinations as a prerequisite for entry.

Applicaitons can be made via the NI Direct website, and officials have warned that the scheme is already very busy.

Since 19 July, anyone who is fully vaccinated under the UK vaccination programme does not have to self-isolate or take the day eight post-arrival test if arriving into Northern Ireland from an amber country, making it much ore feasible for many to jet off.

"The NI COVID Certification Service is experiencing extremely high levels of demand - apologies for any inconvenience," a message on the website reads.

"The phone service is also extremely busy and is only for people who cannot apply online. It is not a helpline and cannot respond to queries about applications made online, including questions about identity verification."
