Tributes paid following death of Jim Dornan

Dr Jim Dornan, one of Northern Irelands most renowned obstetrician and gynecologist, has died at the age of 73.

It is understood the Co Down man and father of Hollywood star Jamie Dornan had been battling Covid-19.

Dr Dornan was also a professor and frequently lectures both nationally and internationally, holding the Chair in Fetal Medicine at Queens University Belfast and that in Health & Life Sciences at the Ulster University.

Tributes are being paid to the Professor on social media.

Jim had a passion for theatre and played the role of a policeman in 'The Fall', in which son Jamie played a serial killer. He also starred in the third series of Marcella, alongside Anna Friel in the ITV drama which was shot in Belfast.
