Passengers onboard a Translink train service travelling from Londonderry to Belfast were evacuated because of a small engine fire.

A Translink spokesperson said it happened under the train on the 3.38pm service near Templepatrick.

Emergency services were called to the scene and passengers were transferred onto buses.

The NIFRS sent a total of seven appliances to the incident, but the fire was already extinguished on arrival.

The line has reopened this morning, and a technical investigation is currently underway.

Translink has apologise for inconvenience caused.
