Tipton parts ways with Ports
Portadown FC and manager Matthew Tipton have announced they have agreed a “mutual parting of ways with immediate effect”.
In a statement the club said: “Portadown Football club Board of Directors met with Matthew Tipton this afternoon and both have agreed a mutual parting of ways with immediate effect.
“We would like to thank Matthew for his hard work and dedication to the role and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
“A further coaching update will follow in due course.”
It comes after the Ports lost 3-1 to Dungannon Swifts yesterday (Saturday) in the Danske Bank Premiership.
Tipton took over in February 2018 and was given a five-year full-time contract in May 2021.
However, the team have only won two league games this season and currently sit in the relegation play-off spot in the Premiership
