Teenage girl dies following Co Londonderry collision

A teenage girl had died following a collision in County Londonderry last week.

15 year old Candice Tosh from the Macosquin area was critically injured when the crash happened on the Dunhill Road in the village on Thursday.

At the time of the collision a PSNI statement said, “Police in Coleraine are appealing for witnesses in relation to a serious one vehicle road traffic collision which occurred in the Macosquin area on Thursday afternoon, 2nd November.”

Inspector Craig said, “Shortly after 12:50pm, police received and responded to a report of that a teenage girl had been struck by car on the Dunhill Road.”

“Colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service also attended the scene, and the girl was taken to hospital for treatment for her injuries.”

A new PSNI statement last night said, “Police can confirm that 15-year-old Candice Tosh, from the Macosquin area, has died following a road traffic collision on the Dunhill Road in Macosquin on Thursday, 2nd November 2023.”

“Officers from the Collision Investigation Unit are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision, and would ask anyone who was in the area at the time, and witnessed what happened, or who may have captured mobile phone or dash-cam footage, to contact them at Sprucefield on 101, quoting reference number 740 02/11/23.”
