Shopper threatened with weapon during robbery

A customer has been threatened with scissors during an armed robbery in east Belfast.

A man in his late 20s entered the shop on the Woodstock Road and held the scissors on a customer and demanded money from the staff at around 8.20pm on Saturday.

He fled the scene with a sum of cash from the till.

Police are appealing to anyone who seen a man around 5'8" tall, of slim build and wearing a blue hooded top and grey track bottoms and had a black scarf covering his face in the area to get in contact.

The suspect was reported to have been in the company of a pregnant female earlier in the evening.

She is described as being approximately 5’4” tall with blonde hair tied back. She was wearing a cream coloured coat and pink scarf.

Detective Sergeant McCallum is appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who saw a man matching the description of the suspect, or anyone who knows anything about the incident to contact detectives in Musgrave on 101, quoting reference number 1296 16/02/19.
