King Charles III Accession Proclamation readings happening across NI
The readings are taking place at Hillsborough and Belfast City Hall
The Accession Proclamation will be read aloud at Hillsborough Castle in County Down at midday today (Sunday), the same time as in Edinburgh and Cardiff.
It will include a Royal Salute of 21 Guns and follows Saturday's proclamation at St James' Palace and the Royal Exchange in London.
The High Sheriff of Belfast, Cllr John Hussey, will don ceremonial robes for a re-reading of the Accession Proclamation at Belfast City Hall today (Sunday) at 3pm, before a Special meeting of Belfast City Council.
City Hall will be open until 8pm on Sunday for people wishing to sign the books of condolence.
The Northern Ireland Office has asked the public not to travel to Hillsborough Castle for the reading until a shuttle bus service resume at 4 O’clock from the Eikon Centre.
Meanwhile, members of the public have started gathering in Scotland Ballater early to pay their respects to the late Queen.
The Queen's coffin will embark on a six-hour journey by road from Balmoral Castle via Aberdeen to the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, arriving at 4pm.
The village, which lies about eight miles east of Balmoral, will see the royal cortege pass through later as it heads to Edinburgh.
Families have been seen setting up picnic chairs and attaching union flags to barriers outside the village's Glenmuick Church from about 7am.
The Queen's coffin will be driven past the church at a walking pace to allow people to pay respects.
Her funeral a week on Monday will be attended by leaders from around the world.
It will take place at 11am on Monday 19th September at Westminster Abbey and will also be public bank holiday.
The day was made a bank holiday by King Charles III himself, during today's historic accession council.
The details of the service and events have been released this afternoon by Buckingham Palace and the Earl Marshal, The Duke of Norfolk, who is responsible for the arrangements.
On Tuesday the King and Queen Consort will fly to Belfast and travel to Hillsborough Castle to view an exhibition on the late Queen's long association with NI.
The King will meet with the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland and party leaders.
