Detectives from the PSNI's Economic Crime unit have sent a file to the Public Prosecution Service as part of an ongoing investigation into a former fertility clinic in Belfast.

In a statement today (Wednesday) the PSNI said the file regarding five women and a man, related to a probe into the then Lisburn Road area based clinic.

Police said the investigation was in regards to alleged offences of fraud by false representation, conspiracy to defraud, money laundering, breaches of the Human Medicines Act, and Companies Act offences.

Chief Inspector Louise Dunne said: “This is a unique and complex case, which is being progressed as sensitively and expeditiously as possible.”
