Man in 40s in hospital after assault in Co Tyrone
Police are appealing for information.
A man aged in his 40s is in hospital following an assault in Co Tyrone.
Police say it was reported that a delivery van was stopped by a number of masked men in Carrickmore this morning on main street.
The driver of the van was dragged from the vehicle and assaulted by the men who also smashed the windows of the van.
A police statement reads: "It was reported that a delivery van was stopped by a number of masked men, one armed with a suspected firearm, at Main Street, between 5am and 5.30am on Sunday morning. The driver of the van, a man aged in his 40’s, was dragged from the vehicle and assaulted by the men who also smashed the windows of the van before leaving the area. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment following the incident."
Police are appealing for information and are asking anyone with information or dash-cam footage to contact detectives at Omagh on 101, quoting reference number 402 03/11/24.
