Man in hospital with head injury after assault in Belfast

Police are currently at the scene of an assault in Belfast city centre.

It was reported at around 1.20 this afternoon a man in his 50s was assaulted. He has been taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody at this time.

Officers remain at the scene conducting enquiries and anyone who witnessed the assault or who has any information is asked to contact Police on 101 quoting reference 811 of 04/02/24.
